Why was Sam Altman Fired?

The termination of Sam Altman as CEO of OpenAI was a decision made by
the board of directors. The primary reason cited for his removal was a
lack of consistent candor in his communications with the board. This
was perceived as a hindrance to the board’s ability to effectively
exercise their responsibilities. There were also concerns about the direction of OpenAI under Altman’s
leadership. For instance, Elon Musk, a co-founder of OpenAI,
criticized the organization for prioritizing profit over
safety.

on November 17, 2023, Murati assumed the role of interim CEO. A strong
proponent for the regulation of AI, she believes that governments should
